Syko - textile art for everyday living
My passion for quilting started when I joined my mum to a quilting class in my late teens. I have my mother to thank for my love for textiles, she has always been sewing, knitting and creating! However it took an MA in Ethnology (2001), a few years working at the University and two children before I realised that my future had to involve fabric and thread. My business slowly grew from a hobby to become my full-time occupation in February 2008. Syko has come to represent playful art textiles characterized by my childlike drawn doodles translated into fabric and thread. I find great inspiration in my two children and their drawings and I love illustrated books for kids! Beautiful fabrics, buttons, and colours also tickle my fantasy! Reusing fabrics, buttons and giving them a new good life in unique textiles is an important part of the Syko philosophy. Examples of my works can be found here.
I am also proud to offer a printed collection of postcards and art prints.
Syko’s products are sold in small shops around the world and on the web.
